Meetings

The Plantation Democratic Club meets on the second Tuesday of the month.

Next meeting Tuesday, August 14th, Deicke Auditorium, 7:00 PM

Our Vision

Democrats recognize that our country and our economy are strongest when they provide opportunity for all Americans.

Democrats believe that each of us has an obligation to each other, to our neighbors and our communities. Each of us has a role to play in creating our future--and while we have made great progress as a nation, we know that our work is never done.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to support voter enfranchisement through registration and Get Out the Vote initiatives and to provide voter education through canvassing and candidate and speaker forums. We will support our Democratic candidates and work for the issues that are compatible with our Party’s ideals.

Calendar of Events

Check out upcoming events and volunteer opportunities from our club, our sister clubs and local organizations. If you have an event you wish to have included, email events@plantationdems.org. Include your name, email and phone number, as well as the date, time, location description and sponsoring organization of the event.

President’s Message

It is an honor and a privilege to serve as President during this critical political period. Florida is the largest swing state in the country, and Broward is home to more Democrats than any other county in the state, so it is also a responsibility for every Democrat to do what he or she can to participate in “Get Out the Vote” activities. We at the Plantation Democratic Club are committed to action and activism and we are encouraging all members of the Democratic family to participate in club and Party activities to the extent possible.  Volunteers are needed to carry our message of Democratic values to the electorate.  We are dedicated to the principles of quality education, affordable healthcare, and economic opportunity for all.

Some volunteer opportunities include:

  • In-person registering new voters and encouraging voters to complete Vote By Mail cards
  • Contacting registered Democrats by phone to encourage voter participation
  • Canvassing registered voters in your neighborhood
  • Participating in Club fundraising events
  • Bringing friends and neighbors to the Club’s monthly meetings
  • Attending training for Get Out the Vote (GOTV) activities

There are many benefits for getting involved in a cause bigger than oneself. Besides learning new skills and making new friends, involved people derive an increased sense of satisfaction and confidence and a spirit of community and family with their colleagues—and many of our events are fun!

Failure to elect a Democratic  Congress will result in the continued rollback of  environment protections and the extension of disproportionate tax breaks for the wealthy and continued attacks on Social Security and Medicare. This is important work! For more information on how you can get involved, please click on the Volunteer Box at the top of this page!
